Descripción
This artifact is a Song Dynasty porcelain pottery piece recovered from a shipwreck in the South China Sea. This artifact is from the 1100’s when the Song Dynasty ruled in Southern China for over a Century. Based upon the artifacts recovered this ship was most likely a merchant vessel trading Chinese porcelain around the world with exchange for other goods.
This artifact is made of Chinese porcelain and covered mostly in copper-based corrosion seen in the photos. This piece depicts two dragons on either side of the vase with their mouths attached to the ring. The vases are able to be cleaned using modern methods, however we believe that the corrosion adds to the story and value of the piece. The pottery has the following dimensions:
Height: 8 3/16 Inches
Top Diameter: 5 1/8 Inches
Middle Diameter: 3 7/8 Inches
Bottom Diameter: 2 15/16 Inches
This artifact comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Global Xploration.
