Descripción
This artifact selection is three coins from the Southern Song Dynasty in China from the 1100’s. These coins were recovered from a shipwreck in the South China Sea likely from a merchant trade vessel.
These coins have been professionally cleaned and preserved. These artifacts have rounded outside edges and squared inside edges. The square was used a support for filing the round edges of the coin. These coins were casted in molds rather than struck or screw pressed like other early coins. Some of these coins can still show their file marks and other marks from the molds.
These artifacts come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Global Xploration.
