This artifact is a bronze Moroccan coin with the Star of David on one side and the date on the other. This coin is from 1262AH and was found on a shipwreck in the Mediterranean Sea near Spain. This type of coin is very rare to have been found on a shipwreck. Seven coins total have been recovered from this shipwreck. This coin has been professionally cleaned to preserve its value and history.
The date imprinted on the coin is based on the Islamic calendar known as Hijri. This calendar is based on lunar years which is fewer than our traditional Western calendar that the majority of the world uses today.
